Before aIAC

Georgia started training at AIAC when she was just five years old. This kid new she wanted to act, and she was lucky enough to have very supportive parents. She started with individual training getting one-on-one coaching with me. We worked on basic audition skills, improving her slate, working on eye lines and memorization—at the time Georgia was still learning to read.

Training

But pretty soon she was ready to jump into classes. With mostly adults in class, it was very much an “on set” experience for Georgia—most sets have very few kids on them and it was good practice for her professionalism to be working with more mature actors. By the time she was 8 her skills were super strong and it was time to look for an agent. She got a referral to McCarty. She auditioned for them, they loved her and she’s been booking with them ever since. By the time she was 9 she had worked her way into the Advanced Class at AIAC, a rare achievement for one so young. Last year she played the lead in the play Antigone produced by Scaffold Theatre, a show which later went on to win two awards (Best of Fringe and Audience Choice Award) at the Great Salt Lake Fringe Festival. Her work was astounding, bringing surprising depth and understanding to the iconic role.

Booking

Besides booking commercials, print and short films along the way, Georgia won a coveted role on the feature This Bloody Country which shot earlier this year. The character she had to play was very challenging both emotionally and physically, but Georgia’s acting and auditioning skills won over director Craig Packard at her callback. She spent three weeks on location in Southern Utah shooting the film. She just wrapped the feature Royal Façade in which she played a star-struck student who gets to talk to a real live princess! Having built her network and relationships in the current market here in Salt Lake, instead of auditioning for the role, Georgia was approached with a direct offer from the producers. Georgia also appeared in the feature Twice the Dream and the Christmas movie He Knows When You’ve Been Bad. Truly an inspiration, she continues to study at AIAC while pursuing her professional acting career.

She worked her way up through the ranks of AIAC and at nine years old was already in my Advanced class. Yes, super talented with a knack for being on stage (she’s also a dancer), Georgia is natural and confident in front of the camera as well.
