Infinity Wars – Movie Review

Whoa! Super Heroes Raking It In!

My husband and I went to see the Avengers: Infinity Wars last Friday night. It was just a spur of the moment thing – I was totally not aware it was the opening weekend. We got tickets late, it was packed, and we ended up sitting on the front row – so our eyeballs were practically squished against the screen.

A very weird angle to see any movie, especially an action-packed one like that. (I do have to admit I abandoned my husband and the huge bucket of popcorn and went to sit on the floor a few rows back – you know, those empty spaces reserved for wheelchairs. So, I got to see the movie without needing neck surgery afterward.)

Did I like it?

How can $680 Million dollars in gross revenue be wrong? I LOVE action flicks. They are my favorite. And I LOVE Super Heroes. I have to admit I hadn’t seen all the Avenger Movies before, but I love Thor and Loki and who doesn’t love the Guardians of the Galaxy? (Honestly, I don’t know who my favorite is amongst those 5 – Groot, Dax, Star Lord, Rocket – even Gamora has grown on me.)

The scenery/special effects were K-Razy, the snarky humor vs the moments of profundity were well balanced, the smorgasbord of awesome characters was a literal feast for even a comic book snob, the plot was easy to follow, a little too easy for my taste – they’ve got these six stones, see, and the bad guy wants them, so he can take over the universe Bahahaha! (Didn’t they do that in Harry Potter, and . . . well A LOT of other action films . . . ?) and it’s all held together by the glue of endless battling of super heroes against super heroes, or super heroes against creatures who looked like they came from The Upside Down (or is it just me?) (Who’s to blame them, we all like Stranger Things.)

But Thanos, What About Us?

All in all, it was a smash and grab evening of fun and adventure and spice and even a tear or two. My big question is how do we little guys get in on some of that dough? RIGHT???
